Hi All! Are you traveling this summer and worried about not training when you're on the road?
BRING YOUR BIKE!
We spend the summer in our RV exploring new places by bike. A GREAT source for finding routes wherever you are is http://www.mapmyride.com. Today we did a super 53 mile ride we found on that website. We've found several good rides in every town we've been to this summer. So there's NO EXCUSE for not riding when you're traveling. You can always find a route!

Hi, I love your comment about bringing the bike, I have been doing this whenever I travel and it helps to get the miles in. I do have a question about the route. Do you have a map with the elevations through the route listed? I can't seem to find that on this website. I am curious as to the grade and length of hills etc. Another question, what is your thought on aerobars? I put some on my bike and I am now rethinking them. Thanks Linda Kress

We will have a map of the route available by the end of August and submit it to NoS to put on the website.
Generally speaking, the climbs are moderate, in the 3-5% range. There are two short, steep climbs in the 9-10% range. Most of the climbs are in the 2-3 mile range; but the full century also has a 12 mile climb which is steeper for the first couple of miles and pretty gentle at the top.
Our thoughts on aerobars is that you don't need them. They're for triathletes in a short distance, flat course; which this isn't! ;-)

Thanks for the link. I try to bring my bike whenever possible and will likely put that website to good use!
